NEW
TOURNAMENT DEAD LINE.
6/10/02
SCORE
HAS ANNOUNCED A NEW TOURNAMENT DEADLINE FOR
SCHEDULING TOURNAMENTS. FOR NOW ON
TOURNAMENTS NEED TO BE SCHEDULED BY THE 15TH
OF EACH MONTH FOR THE COMING MONTH.
JULY-UNDERDOG
MONTH.
5/31/02
DUST
OFF THOSE SAIYAN SAGA PERSONALITIES BECAUSE
THE UNDERDOGS WILL RULE THE DAY! READ
THE RULES BELOW:
Rules:
The bigger they are – the harder they
fall! In an Underdog tournament, the Physical
Attack table is virtually a reverse mirror
image of itself. Instead of damage getting
larger as your personality gets stronger, the
damage grows smaller. Yes, it’s true, at
full power Yajirobe can smack Android 18 for 5
power stages with his special ability of a
Physical Attack, while Android 18 cannot even
touch the Underdog Yajirobe.
But don’t think that reducing your power
stage to zero will help, it won’t. If your
stages drop to zero, even being an Underdog
won’t help you escape your fate. Damage is
done normally if one or both players are at
zero power stages.
During the month of July, hold your
Underdog tournament in place of a normal
sanctioned tournament. Sign up for the entire
month of July’s tournaments by June 15. Use
the standard Event Registration form. Be sure
to note which (if not all) of your July events
is a July Underdog Tournament. All Hosts that
schedule an Underdog tournament will be sent
the special Underdog Physical Attack Table
along with the special tournament prizes.
Prizes:
Prizes for the winners reflect the spirit
of the Underdog tournament as well. Five of
the six Saiyan Saga High-Tech redemption
promos, Garlic Jr. P13, Vinegar P17, Spice
P16, Captain Ginyu P15, and Frieza P12 will be
given away as the special prizes. Of course,
the winner of the tournament will receive the
top prize, his choice of one of the five
promos.
Two random players that finished the
tournament in the bottom half of the standings
will also each win two of the remaining four
promos. Of the two randomly chosen players,
the lower ranked player makes his first
choice, then the higher ranked player chooses
two, and finally the lower ranked player
receives the last promo.
Judges, please pay close attention to the
games. Conceding or “throwing” games to
your opponent is considered unsportsmanlike
conduct. A player that “throws” a game
should be disqualified from receiving any of
the Underdog prizes.
MOTOR
CITY TOURNAMENTS ROCK!
5/21/02
THIS PAST WEEKEND WE SAW
MICHIGAN DBZ AT ITS FINEST AT THE MOTOR CITY
COMIC CON. PLAYERS FROM ALL OVER THE
STATE CAME DOWN TO COMPETE IN THE TUFF ENUFF
TOURNAMENT AND FREE SEALED DECK
TOURNAMENT. THE TUFF ENUFF TOURNAMENT
SAW REGIONAL VETERAN DUSTIN MORABITO TAKE THE
CROWN, WITH RICHARD R. COMING IN SECOND.
THE SEALED DECK TOURNAMENT SAW DUSTIN M. TAKE
IT AGAIN WITH CINDERELLA STORY PLAYER BRANDON
W. TAKING SECOND. WHY IS HE A CINDERELLA STORY
YOU ASK? HE LEARNED TO PLAY 5 MINUTES
BEFORE TOURNAMENT. IT WAS A GREAT
WEEKEND AND WELL RAN THANKS TO JEREMY E. AND
MIKE S.-SUPER JUDGES AND SUPREME SAIYANS.
GOOD JOB SAIYANS!
